About lookups and fair use

Inspecting and exporting your connection is free of any per-use cost. The one thing that carries a real cost to run is looking up a cell tower's location, because those lookups are paid for on the server side. That is why CNA asks you to sign in with your Google account, so it can allocate your lookups, and why lookups are metered.

Free mode includes 10 tower-location lookups per month, which is plenty for casual use.
Pro mode makes lookups unlimited under a fair-use policy: a generous monthly allowance that comfortably covers normal coverage mapping, logging and hunting, while protecting the service from extreme automated use.

Once a tower's location is known it is cached, so revisiting the same towers costs nothing, and hunts you contribute make everyone's lookups more accurate over time.
